'Slumber Versions' is a companion release to 'Slumber', also released on Sonic Entrails. It features reworkings of the originals by some friends and associates of Blind Johnny Smoke including Satori, Akoustik Timbre Frekuency, TUNNELS OF ĀH, John 3:16, Pas Musique, Steckdose and The nss85 Project. This is an international sound experience featuring luminaries of the noise and experimental scenes.

Melatonal is a project for sleep drone sounds, originally conceived as an effort to overcome insomnia. Blind Johnny found much of the 'relaxing' music available was too twee, or repetatively structured in such a way that it commanded too much attention. Melatonal's sounds are an attempt to work on two levels, either as background sounds to drift off to, or as a stand alone noise/dark ambient music to be experienced at high volume. 'Slumber Versions' allows the original sounds to drift further from these aims and is a truly consuming experience.

'Slumber' and 'Slumber Versions' is also released as a very limited CDr bundle spread across 4 discs with bespoke hand assembled packaging. It will be sold at a price just to cover the costs of assembly to make the sounds as available as possible to anyone wishing to experience these sleep drone sounds.

Slumber 7 does not appear on the original release as it was recorded as an exclusive for a compilation. It is however included in the limited CD package. ... more
